Lake Wales, FL. – A Bartow man was killed and a Winter Haven woman was injured in a collision involving a semi-truck early Wednesday morning in Lake Wales.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 3:20 a.m. on State Route 60.

A 2022 Kia K5 was heading eastbound on SR 60 when it crashed into a 2026 Freightliner semi-truck.

The 32-year-old Bartow man driving the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 37-year-old Winter Haven woman who was a passenger in the Kia was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The semi-truck driver was unhurt.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
