Cabanatan tried to cross all southbound lanes of the freeway and was hit by a passing Tesla in the fast lane

Riverside, CA.- Kenneth Cabanatan, 40, of Norco, died after his car collided with a Tesla sports sedan in Riverside on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on the 215 Freeway, just south of Fair Isle Drive, shortly before 4 a.m. August 20.
According to the CHP, Cabanatan was behind the wheel of his 2003 Hyundai Tiburon that was parked on the side of the freeway.
Cabanatan tried to cross all southbound lanes of the freeway and was hit by a passing Tesla in the fast lane.
The CHP said Cabanatan was transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after.
The driver of the Tesla was not injured.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
