Torrez Loya Jr. was crossing southbound on Norris Road outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a Toyota heading eastbound on Norris.

Bakersfield, CA. – 31-year-old Jesus Torrez Loya Jr. of Bakersfield has been identified as the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle Thursday night in the city, the Kern County Coroner's Office reported.
Torrez Loya Jr. was crossing southbound on Norris Road outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a Toyota heading eastbound on Norris.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near Stockton Avenue.
The 27-year-old man driving the car stopped and remained at the scene after the accident.

Bakersfield, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Thursday night, according to the authorities.
The crash happened on Norris Road, east of Stockton Avenue, at around 8:55 p.m. October 9.
A man was trying to cross Norris Road from the north side to the south outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by an eastbound 2010 silver Toyota Corolla.
The victim died at the scene.
The driver, a 27-year-old Bakersfield man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
