El Cajon, CA. – 19-year-old Jesse Hernandez died in a collision involving a box truck that happened Thursday afternoon near an intersection in El Cajon.

A black BMW and a box truck were involved in the crash.
The box truck overturned onto its side.
Hernandez was driving the BMW. Firefighters responded to the scene and found the man trapped inside the driver's compartment of the heavily damaged car.
Hernandez, an El Cajon resident, was freed and transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Two delivery workers in the box truck suffered minor injuries.
Investigators said excessive speed may have been a contributing factor. Witnesses reported the BMW was possibly involved in a street race with a separate vehicle before colliding with the box truck.
