A Jeep Patriot was traveling north on Highway 395 when it tried to pass other vehicles and collided with an oncoming motorcycle

Chewelah, WA.– Two people were killed in a motorcycle collision on Thursday afternoon near Chewelah, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident happened on Highway 395 at around 3:30 p.m. October 9.
A Jeep Patriot was traveling north on Highway 395 when it tried to pass other vehicles and collided with an oncoming motorcycle.
The two people riding on the motorcycle were killed in the crash.
They were identified as Jerome Venters, 74, and Gloria Venters, 76, both of Deer Park.
The driver of the Jeep, Ida Hildebrand, 52, was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to WSP, Hildebrand is facing two counts of vehicular homicide.
