Hesperia, CA – The authorities have released the identity of a bicyclist who died after being struck by a Tesla on Main Street in Hesperia on Monday last week.
The County Medical Examiner identified the deceased bicyclist as Jack Brewer Jr., a 58-year-old resident of Big Bear.
Brewer Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit at about 10:00 p.m. on July 28 on Main Street east of Escondido Avenue.

Hesperia, CA – A man was killed Monday night in a bicycle accident in Hesperia, according to the Hesperia Police Department.
The deadly accident happened at about 10:00 p.m. on July 28 on Main Street east of Escondido Avenue.
Police said a 22-year-old Hesperia man was driving a black 2018 Tesla Model 3 westbound in the number two lane of the street. A 58-year-old Lucerne Valley man was riding a bicycle in the middle of the number two lane without lights on.
The Tesla driver saw the bicyclist too late, was unable to swerve out of the way due to other vehicles on the roadway and hit him. The impact knocked the bicyclist off the bicycle and into a nearby field.
The Tesla driver pulled over, called 911 and stayed at the scene. He stopped near the Aqueduct, in front of Extra Space Storage.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His has not been released.
Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
