Hanford, CA – One person died, and multiple others were injured after a driver veered into opposing lanes and caused a collision Sunday afternoon in Hanford, authorities reported.

Officers and firefighters responded to the scene after receiving reports of a multi-vehicle accident.
The responders found a Toyota Tacoma, a Honda Civic, and a Toyota Corolla involved in the crash.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the Tacoma, occupied by the driver, a man, and three passengers, was traveling west on Highway 198 when the driver allowed the vehicle to go over a paved center divider and into the eastbound lanes.
The Tacoma collided with an eastbound Honda Civic. The impact pushed the Civic into an eastbound Toyota Corolla occupied by two people. The Corolla overturned and came to rest in a nearby field.
The driver of the Civic died while being transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
The occupants of the Corolla were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The passengers of the Tacoma were transported to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford with unknown injuries.
Investigators do not believe alcohol and drugs played a role in the accident.
