Griffith Park, CA – A boy was hospitalized with major injuries after being involved in a two-vehicle crash with entrapment on the Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park Friday evening, according to the authorities.
The incident was reported shortly after 8:20 p.m. January 9, on the northbound freeway near Los Feliz Boulevard.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, two northbound vehicles collided and crashed into a center divider. It’s unclear what caused the vehicles to collide.
A 15-year-old boy was trapped in one of the vehicles. The LAFD crews responded to the scene and helped extricate the trapped victim.
The boy was then rushed to a hospital with critical injuries. There was no update on the condition of the other involved parties.
No further information on the crash was immediately provided. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
