Tucson, AZ.- The motorcyclist who was killed in a collision in Tucson on Friday night has been identified as Gregory Lee Campbell, 62, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The accident took place in the area of Tanque Verde and Wilmot roads on Friday, October 10.
According to the authorities, Campbell was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed east on Tanque Verde Road when he collided with a westbound 2007 Dodge Ram that was making a U-turn to travel eastbound.
Campbell was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Dodge, a 29-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The motorcyclist's speed and the Dodge driver's failure to yield while making a U-turn were believed to be contributing factors in the crash, police reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
