Glendale, AZ.- One person sustained severe injuries in a collision that took place in Glendale early Monday morning, according to the authorities.
Shortly after midnight, authorities responded to reports of a crash near the intersection of 55th Avenue and Camelback Road.
According to investigators, a service truck was stopped on the side of Camelback Road as the driver was cleaning a bus stop. Another driver in a Toyota failed to slow down for the stopped truck and crashed into its back.
The service truck had the traffic cones and lights to indicate that it was stopped.
The driver of the Toyota, a 21-year-old, was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
The crash led to the closure of 55th Avenue as authorities investigated the incident.
Police are still working to establish the cause of the collision.
