Gardena, CA – Authorities have released the identity of the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash involving a vehicle earlier this month in Gardena.
At around 6:55 p.m. September 17, authorities responded to reports of an accident on Marine and Western avenues.
According to the Gardena Police Department, a motorcyclist was involved in a crash with a Lexus ES300 at the intersection. It’s unclear what led up to the accident.
Crews with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
The rider was later declared deceased at the hospital. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Daniel Zaragoza Salcedo, 27.
The driver of the Lexus was not injured and was cooperative with law enforcement.
The Gardena Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is conducting an investigation into the collision.
