Clovis, California (October 15, 2022) – A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a head-on collision that happened in Clovis early Saturday morning, according to the authorities.

The wreck occurred just after midnight in the area of Willow and Nees avenues.

Authorities said the deputy was stopped at a red light at the intersection when two vehicles traveling west on Nees Avenue collided and the impact sent one of them into the patrol vehicle.

The deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment and was released.

One of the other drivers, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. 

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
