Fresno, CA – One person was hospitalized with critical injuries after two e-bike riders collided in Fresno on Sunday afternoon, according to the Fresno Police Department.

The incident took place at around 2:30 p.m. April 25, on California Street, near Kern Street.

Police reported that two e-bike riders collided near Edison High after one of them pulled out in front of the other. The impact caused one of the riders to be ejected from his bike.

The ejected rider was not wearing a helmet and hit his head on the ground.

Emergency crews arrived within minutes and transported the injured rider to Community Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was only identified as a 65-year-old man.

The other rider, a juvenile, was also not wearing a helmet but was not injured in the collision.

It’s unclear whether speed or impairment played any role in the accident.

There were no further details on the accident. The Fresno Police Department is conducting an investigation to establish the cause of the collision.
