Fresno, CA – A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was hospitalized after being rear-ended by a car Thursday evening off Highway 99 in Fresno.
According to the CHP, the incident occurred on the southbound Highway 99 and Highway 180 interchange.
The motorcycle officer was slowing to help a disabled vehicle on the side of the road when a vehicle came up from behind and rear-ended the officer.
The officer was thrown off the motorcycle, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the officer to the hospital.
The driver involved stopped and remained at the scene.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
