According to preliminary reports, the pedestrian was walking east on Stevenson Boulevard near the center median when they were struck by a vehicle.
Fremont, CA – A pedestrian was struck and Killed by a vehicle on Monday morning in Fremont, the Fremont Police Department reported.
The incident occurred on Stevenson Boulevard west of Marietta Drive at around 4:15 a.m. September 7.
According to preliminary reports, the pedestrian was walking east on Stevenson Boulevard near the center median when they were struck by a vehicle.
Fremont police and emergency crews arrived shortly after and the pedestrian was rushed to a hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital shortly after.
The pedestrian was only identified as a 60-year-old but their name was not released.
The driver reportedly stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
The authorities reported that alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the incident.
The accident is under investigation by the Fremont Police Department and more details are expected to be released.
