Fernando Alvarado Killed in Mecca Car Accident at 68th Avenue and Grant Street

Mecca, CA. – 55-year-old Fernando Villanueva Alvarado has been identified as one of the two people who died in a car accident on Friday morning in Mecca.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of 68th Avenue and Grant Street.

A Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound and collided with a westbound Toyota Tundra.

The impact of the collision caused the Tundra to overturn and strike a power pole.

Fernando Alvarado and another female occupant of the Tundra were killed in the accident.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Tacoma was hospitalized with minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
