Woman Killed in Kent Car Crash on Interstate 5 near South 272nd Street

Kent, WA.- A woman from Federal Way was killed in a traffic collision that took place near Kent early Sunday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident took place on Interstate 5 near South 272nd Street at about 12:14 a.m. March 2.

A 21-year-old woman from Federal Way was driving a Mercedes-Benz GLS when she swerved into another lane and hit the left side of a Toyota Tacoma.

The SUV rolled over several times following the collision.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Toyota, a 47-year-old Gig Harbor resident, was treated for unspecified injuries.

Northbound I-5 was shut down for hours as authorities investigated and cleared the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
