Preliminary reports indicate that Selah Town, 26, of Carlotta, was driving a black 2016 GMC Yukon northbound on Highway 101 in the left lane when she drifted into the right lane.
Eureka, CA – A construction worker was seriously injured in a crash involving a suspected DUI motorist on Wednesday night in Eureka, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 11:24 p.m. September 17, authorities responded to reports of a collision on Highway 101, near Sunset Drive.
Preliminary reports indicate that Selah Town, 26, of Carlotta, was driving a black 2016 GMC Yukon northbound on Highway 101 in the left lane when she drifted into the right lane.
The vehicle crashed into a Caltrans construction zone in the right lane. One of the workers was struck by the SUV.
CHP reported that the injured worker, identified as Ronnie Franklin, 20, of McKinleyville, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital with major injuries. Town was treated for minor injuries.
DUI was suspected to have played a role in the incident and Town was arrested.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
