Eugene, OR. – A bicyclist who was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Eugene earlier this month has succumbed to her injuries.
According to the Eugene Police Department, officers received a call just before 8 p.m. August 8, about the accident at E 8th Avenue and Hilyard Street.
Elizabeth Cardenas Figueroa, 21, of Eugene, was riding a bicycle in the crosswalk at the intersection when she was hit by a westbound Audi A4.
According to EPD, witnesses performed CPR on Figueroa until emergecy crews arrived.
Figueroa was transported to a hospital with critical injuries and she succumbed to the injuries on August 18.
The driver of the Audi, a 27-year-old, remained at the scene after the accident.
The EPD is conducting an investigation into the accident.
