Hemet, CA. – An 81-year-old woman died when she was hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Hemet, authorities reported.

Investigators said the senior citizen was walking in traffic lanes when she got hit by a Chrysler 300 under unclear circumstances.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The 38-year-old Hemet man driving the car stopped after the crash. He was detained for questioning but was not arrested.
Drugs or alcohol are not thought to be contributing factors.
