El Cajon, CA – A 39-year-old woman died late last month after spending more than three weeks hospitalized for injuries she suffered when she was struck by a vehicle in El Cajon, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The victim, identified as Susana Gascon, was hit by a car around 2 p.m. on December 6 while crossing North Mollison Avenue between Broadway and Interstate 8.
Paramedics transported her to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where she remained in critical condition until her death on December 28.
The Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Gascon died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately released, and it was not disclosed whether any arrest was made.
The incident remains under investigation.
