Capitola, CA.- An e-bike rider was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Capitola on Thursday night, according to the Capitola Police Department.
The wreck occurred on 41st Avenue and Clares Street at about 8:40 p.m. on March 13.
A 17-year-old boy was riding a Super 73 e-bike in the area when he was hit by a semitrailer.
The teenager was pulled out from underneath the big rig and was rendered aid by first responders at the scene.
The victim was then airlifted to a trauma center with critical injuries.
The driver of the big rig remained at the scene after the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
