Bicyclist Killed in Collision at Pine Ridge Avenue and Jacarilla Road in Apple Valley
Apple Valley, California (September 1, 2021) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has disclosed the identity of a bicyclist who died after being struck by a car in Apple Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal bicycle accident happened at Pine Ridge Avenue and Jacarilla Road at about 12:52 p.m. August 31.
The California Highway Patrol said a van was traveling north on Jicarilla Road when it struck 36-year-old Dontril Biggs who was riding a bicycle eastbound on Pine Ridge Avenue.
Dontril, a resident of Apple Valley, was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
The van driver was unhurt. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
