Emergency personnel responded to the scene, one block from Stanford University, and found Meda Jr. unconscious inside a pickup truck.

Palo Alto, CA. – 40-year-old Daniel Meda Jr. died in a single-vehicle collision that happened late Saturday night in downtown Palo Alto near Stanford University, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office reported.
According to the Palo Alto Police Department, the accident was reported around 11:57 p.m. on northbound Alma Street near the University Avenue overcrossing.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, one block from Stanford University, and found Meda Jr. unconscious inside a pickup truck.
Crews extricated the driver and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Alma Street when, for an unknown reason, it left the roadway and collided with the elevated median.
