, CA.- Two girls were struck and injured by a vehicle in Carmichael on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

The incident took place in the 3100 block of Panama Avenue and Stanley Avenue near the Deterding Elementary School at around 2:30 p.m. November 11.

The two girls were walking across Panama Avenue from the west side to the east when they were hit by a southbound vehicle.

One of the girls suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The second girl was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The involved driver remained at the scene after the crash.

Police said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the incident.

The investigation is investigating.
