Cabazon, CA – Two people were hospitalized following a collision involving multiple vehicles in Cabazon on Monday afternoon.
According to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the accident was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. April 6, on Interstate 10, near the Main Street overpass.
Investigations into the incident reveal that three vehicles were involved in the accident in the eastbound lanes of I-10. Authorities were still working to find out how and why the wreck happened.
The California Highway Patrol and emergency personnel responded to the scene and attended to the people involved in the incident.
Two patients were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Eight other patients were evaluated at the scene and declined transport.
As a result of the collision, the No.1 Lane of I-10 eastbound was shut down as authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is looking into information and evidence gathered at the scene as they work to determine what led up to the accident.
