Briana Jones Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 near Fair Oaks Avenue in Sunnyvale

Sunnyvale, California (August 31, 2021) – 19-year-old Briana Jones has been identified as the San Jose woman who was killed in a car accident early Sunday morning in Sunnyvale.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 101 near Fair Oaks Avenue at about 3:10 a.m. August 29.

Jones was driving a 1998 Honda Civic when she crashed into a center median and got a flat tire.

The disabled Honda Civic was then struck by a 2020 Honda Civic and 2018 Subaru WRX.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries and were transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
