Bradenton, CA – A 63-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle at an intersection in Bradenton on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at around 1:30 p.m. on 301 Boulevard East and 5th Street East.
According to FHP, a Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on 5th Street East when it entered the intersection and was struck on the right side by a Honda Silver Wing motorcycle heading west on 301 Boulevard East.
The motorcycle overturned following the accident and the rider was ejected.
The rider was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. The victim’s identity was not immediately released but authorities reported that he was a 63-year-old man from Sarasota.
The driver of the Ford, a 37-year-old woman from Bradenton, was not injured and remained at the scene of the collision. However, a passenger in the car, identified as a 47-year-old Bradenton woman, was treated for minor injuries.
No further details were immediately available. The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
