Bakersfield Police Department arrived at the scene and found the boy in critical condition

Bakersfield, CA. – A 14-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a car as he rode a bicycle on Monday afternoon in East Bakersfield.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, the accident happened near the intersection of East Truxtun Avenue and Williams Street at around 2 p.m.
The boy was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a gray Toyota sedan traveling westbound on Truxtun Avenue.
The Bakersfield Police Department arrived at the scene and found the boy in critical condition. The boy was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
