Berkeley, CA – A man riding on an e-bike was injured in a crash with vehicle in northwest Berkeley on Friday afternoon.

According to the Berkeley Fire Department, crews responded to reports of the collision just after 2:30 p.m. April 17, on Cedar Street and San Pablo Avenue.

Preliminary reports indicate that a man was hit by a car in the area and the impact ejected the rider from the e-bike. The exact cause of the accident has not been determined.

Upon arrival, the Berkeley Fire Department personnel located the rider at the scene with visible injuries but was conscious.

Paramedics transported the rider to Highland Hospital for further treatment. There was no update on the condition of the hospitalized patient.

Authorities reported that the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was only identified as a man in his 50s.

The driver remained at the scene after the accident.
