
Benton City, WA.- Two people were injured in an accident between two vehicles near Benton City on Tuesday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.
At around 11:28 a.m. on December 2, 2025, troopers responded to calls of a crash on State Route 225 at Highland Extension Road, nearly one mile north of Benton City.
According to the report, an 18-year-old Benton City woman was driving an Audi Q5 westbound on Highland Extension Road when she failed to yield at the intersection and was hit by a Honda Accord traveling north on SR 225. The Honda was driven by a 53-year-old Mattawa woman.
The Mattawa driver was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center while the Benton City driver was taken to Prosser Memorial Health. There was no update on the conditions of the hospitalized drivers.
According to WSP, alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have been factors in the crash and no charges have been filed. The incident remains under investigation.
