Benjamin Perez Killed in Collision on Twentynine Palms Highway near Kerr Avenue in Joshua Tree
Joshua Tree, CA. – 31-year-old Benjamin Perez was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday evening in Joshua Tree.
The fatal collision happened around 4:15 p.m. on Twentynine Palms Highway near Kerr Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Perez was driving a 2020 Nissan Sentra eastbound in the fast lane of the highway when he crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck directly in front of him.
The Nissan then traveled into westbound lanes where he hit a Burrtec trash truck and a 2023 Tesla Model Y.
Perez, a resident of Twentynine Palms, was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the Tesla was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center with minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
