Beaumont, CA – A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a vehicle near an intersection in Beaumont on Wednesday morning, according to the Beaumont Police Department.

According to investigators, a man was reportedly hit by a car on East 1st Street under unclear circumstances. Authorities were still working to find out what exactly led up to the collision.
Emergency personnel responded to the incident and located the pedestrian with severe injuries.
Medics performed life-saving measures on the pedestrian but were unsuccessful. The victim was declared deceased at the site of the accident.
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
Authorities reported that alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played any role in the accident.
Both sides of East 1st Street were shut down between Pennsylvania Avenue and Michigan Avenue as authorities investigated the incident.
