Lynden, WA.- A bus driver was killed when a vehicle crashed into a school bus in Lynden on Thursday morning, according to the Lynden Police Department.

The incident took place shortly before 8 a.m. May 1, in the 2000 block of Main Street.

Police reported that a white SUV was traveling east on Main Street when it collided with Lynden School District Bus No. 24, which was heading west.

The driver of the bus, Annette Lyon, died in the accident.

The other driver was transported to PeaceHealth Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

There were no students on the bus when the crash happened.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
