Mecca, CA. — A 58-year-old woman from Mecca died early Monday morning after crashing her pickup truck into the back of a flatbed trailer being towed by a tractor, authorities reported.

The woman, identified by the Riverside County Coroner's Office as Maria Moreno De Hernandez, was driving a Ford Ranger westbound when she struck the rear of the trailer.
Moreno De Hernandez died at the scene.
The trailer was being pulled by a Kubota tractor operated by a 21-year-old Mecca man, who was not injured, officials said.
CHP reported that alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.

Mecca, CA.- A woman was killed in a crash involving a farm tractor in Mecca on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened on 70th Avenue and Wheeler Street.
The CHP said a woman was driving a Ford Ranger westbound at the intersection when she slammed into the rear of the tractor.
The woman was declared deceased at the scene of the crash.
The operator of the tractor was not injured.
