Olympia, WA.- Three people were killed in a traffic collision that took place near Olympia early Sunday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The wreck took place on at Scatter Creek.

A car was reportedly traveling south on northbound I-5 when it collided with an oncoming vehicle.

A third vehicle was also caught up in the accident.

Three people involved in the initial collision were killed in the crash.

All northbound lanes of I-5 were shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.

The WSP is investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
