Fresno County, CA – A 28-year-old Reedley man died, and two others were injured Sunday morning in a head-on crash in Fresno County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 8:35 a.m. on American Avenue, west of Navalencia Avenue.
The Reedley man was driving a 2016 Acura TLX westbound when the car crossed into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of a 2022 Ram Thor camper van driven by a 62-year-old Manhattan Beach man.
The Acura hit the van head-on.
The impact caused the Acura to spin clockwise before coming to a stop on the south shoulder. The van stopped in the eastbound lane.
The 28-year-old Reedley man died at the scene.
The van's driver had moderate injuries.
A 62-year-old woman riding in a bed in the back of the van was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown forward inside the vehicle. Her condition is still unknown.
Both drivers had their seatbelts on.
CHP said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.
The collision is under investigation.
