Two Killed in Mecca Crash on 68th Avenue and Grant Street

Mecca, CA.- Two people were killed in a crash between two vehicles in Mecca on Friday morning in Mecca, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on 68th Avenue and Grant Street at about 10:15 a.m. March 7.

A Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound at the intersection when it collided with a Toyota Tundra heading west, according to CHP.

The impact caused the Tundra to overturn and it slammed into a power pole.

A man and woman in the Tundra were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man driving the Tacoma, a 25-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.

The CHP reported that alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
