Elk Grove, CA. – Authorities have identified the teenager killed in a single-vehicle crash last week in Elk Grove as 17-year-old Darin Takeo Hirata, according to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office.
The crash occurred on October 19 along Elk Grove Boulevard, east of Waterfowl Drive, where
Hirata's vehicle left the roadway and crashed.
The driver was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
The Elk Grove Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
