Phelan, CA. – One person died in a head-on collision involving a semi-truck that happened Monday afternoon in Phelan, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A Freightliner semi-truck collided head-on with a gray sedan.
A passenger in the big rig called authorities, reporting that the sedan pulled into their lane head-on.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:01 p.m.
A Sheriff-Coroner representative responded to the scene following the fatal collision.
SR-18 at Sheep Creek Road and Oasis Road remained closed for an extended period as investigators worked the scene.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
