A tractor-trailer hit at least two pedestrians near the intersection under unclear circumstances
Portland, OR.- A pedestrian was killed in an accident that happened in Portland on Sunday morning, according to the Portland police.
The accident took place on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Northeast Holladay Street at about 2:45 a.m.
A tractor-trailer hit at least two pedestrians near the intersection under unclear circumstances.
One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second pedestrian was transported to a hospital with major injuries.
The big rig left the area after the accident.
A witness followed the rig and contacted authorities.
The driver of the big rig was pulled over shortly after on Oregon 224 near Clackamas.
The Portland police are conducting an investigation into the collision
