, CA – At least one person is dead following a Thursday night multi-vehicle collision in Hayward.

The fatal collision was reported around 9:47 p.m. on the northbound near the A Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Three vehicles including a construction truck were involved in the collision. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately established.

Three people including a baby were trapped in one of the cars and had to be extricated by the firefighters.

CHP says at least one person was killed in the accident.

The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
