Perris, CA – At least one person was killed in a traffic collision that happened early Thursday morning on Interstate 215 in Perris, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident transpired around 3:12 a.m. on October 15, 2026, on southbound I-215 near Placentia Avenue.
Authorities first received reports of a traffic crash involving a gray Honda Accord and a pedestrian, and then the reporting party said two vehicles pulled over in the center divider. Moments later, the reporting party said the Honda was struck by another vehicle.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found three vehicles involved in the collision. All the cars were blacked out, and all the occupants were outside the vehicles in traffic lanes.
One person died in the accident, CHP reported. It was unclear if the deceased was a pedestrian or an occupant of one of the cars.
All the southbound lanes of I-215 were blocked, and traffic was being diverted off the highway at Placentia Avenue.
CHP officers are investigating the accident.
