San Jose, CA – A woman died after she was pinned between two vehicles Monday night when she exited her car after a rear-end collision on Highway 101 in San Jose, authorities reported.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a San Jose woman was driving a 2011 Nissan Juke northbound when she rear-ended a 2013 Toyota Prius driven in front of her by a 30-year-old San Jose resident.
The woman exited the Nissan to inspect the possible damage to the Toyota.
Authorities said that as the woman was standing between the two vehicles, a 2008 Toyota Camry rear-ended her Nissan, pushing it forward and pinning her between the two vehicles.
Emergency personnel responded and transported the driver to Regional Medical Center in San Jose for treatment. The woman did not survive and died from her injuries at the facility.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors, but an investigation is ongoing.
