According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Joseph Crain, 39, of Jurupa Valley, was killed in the accident that took place near Van Buren Boulevard and 56th Street shortly before 8 p.m. on September 14.
Jurupa Valley, CA – Authorities have identified a man who was hit and killed by a train on Monday night in Jurupa Valley.
According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Joseph Crain, 39, of Jurupa Valley, was killed in the accident that took place near Van Buren Boulevard and 56th Street shortly before 8 p.m. on September 14.
Investigators reported that Crain was on the Union Pacific Railroad line when he was hit by a Metrolink train. The accident reportedly occurred in an area with no marked pedestrian crossings.
Firefighters responded to the scene and Crain was declared deceased shortly after.
There were no injuries reported by the occupants of the train.
Authorities are still investigating to establish the exact cause of the collision.
