Lepe was riding a Honda motorcycle when he allegedly ran a red light while traveling south on Atlantic Avenue and collided with an SUV making a left turn from Villa Park onto northbound Atlantic on a green light.
The SUV driver was hospitalized in stable condition.

Long Beach, CA – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision that happened early Thursday morning at an intersection in Long Beach.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the wreck occurred around 1:45 a.m. on September 10, 2026, at Atlantic Avenue and Villa Park.
Police officers, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene and found a Honda motorcycle and an SUV involved in the collision.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The SUV driver was also hospitalized in stable condition.
Investigators said the crash happened when the SUV was making a left turn from Villa Park onto northbound Atlantic Avenue on a green light. At the same time, the rider reportedly ran a red light while traveling south on Atlantic and collided with the SUV.
LBPD is investigating speed as a possible contributing factor.
