Pacific Beach, CA – A teenage e-bike rider died after being hit by a vehicle on Saturday night in Pacific Beach.

According to the authorities, the incident happened on Olney Street and Balboa Avenue on Saturday, September 12.

Initial investigations found that a 14-year-old boy was riding an e-bike northbound on Olney Street when he failed to stop for a red light and collided with a vehicle heading west at the intersection.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. His name has not yet been released.

The involved driver, only identified as a 38-year-old man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The accident is still under investigation and additional details are expected to be released.
