Fresno, CA – Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 99 near Ventura Street

Authorities reported that a pedestrian was trying to walk across the southbound lanes of Highway 99 when he was hit by a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the No. 1 lane.

Fresno, CA – Authorities are investigating an auto-pedestrian collision that left one person dead on Friday morning in Fresno.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported at around 5:50 a.m. September 11, on Highway 99 south of Ventura Street.

Authorities reported that a pedestrian was trying to walk across the southbound lanes of Highway 99 when he was hit by a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the No. 1 lane.

The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. His age and name were not immediately released.

The involved motorist stayed at the scene and contacted the authorities.

It’s unclear whether impairment played any role in the accident.
