Modesto, CA – Five people were injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle accident that happened Saturday night at an intersection near Highway 9 in Modesto.
According to the Modesto Police Department, the pileup took place around 9 p.m. on September 12, 2026, at Sisk Road and Plaza Parkway, and spilled onto Highway 99.
Police officers responded to the intersection after receiving reports of a three-vehicle collision. One of the cars went through a fence and onto Highway 99, where it was hit by a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the car that veered onto the highway got trapped inside.
Modesto firefighters responded and extricated the driver using the Jaws of Life.
That driver was hospitalized with serious injuries. Four others sustained unspecified injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
