According to investigators, a 55- year-old Orland man was riding a 2025 Jiangmen QiPai KPC motorcycle westbound on County Road 20 when he failed to stop at the intersection and slammed into the side of a 2018 Kia Niro.

Orland, CA – A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision that happened on Friday morning in Orland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened just before 4 a.m. September 4, in the area of County Road 20 and County Road P.
According to investigators, a 55- year-old Orland man was riding a 2025 Jiangmen QiPai KPC motorcycle westbound on County Road 20 when he failed to stop at the intersection and slammed into the side of a 2018 Kia Niro.
The motorcyclist was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he collided with the Kia, which was traveling northbound on County Road P.
The rider of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and died in the crash.
The driver of the Niro, Krista Hill, 30, of Chico, was not injured.
It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
The crash remained under investigation.
